If I had to tell you my story, it would go something like this...
I discovered food photography kind of by accident. Back in college, I started a food blog for a project… and the photos I took were horrible. Like truly tragic. I remember thinking, “There has to be a better way.”
That’s when I stumbled across food photography as an actual thing—and I fell completely headfirst into it. I’ve pretty much never looked back.
After leaving college for health reasons, I knew I needed to build something that could support me—something that worked with my life and not against it. Something that gave me freedom and sustainability for my future and my health.
Photography became that thing.
Through a lot of pitching—and a lot of really good people taking a chance on me—I slowly built my portfolio, my business, and my confidence. I learned how to be a photographer, but I also realized I could turn my love of food and cooking into something I got to do every single day.
And honestly? It never really feels like work.
At one point, I took a break and even started a home bakery—shipping non-traditional scones all across the U.S. (yes, even Alaska!). It was such a fun and fulfilling little season of life.
But photography was always the thing I came back to.
These days, I want to be more than just a photographer. That’s why I started The Detailed Co.—with the dream of helping brands tell real stories and connect with their audiences on a deeper level.
In a world of fast content, AI, and constant scrolling, I believe that connection—real connection—is something we’re slowly drifting away from. And I want to bring it back.
But I also believe we can use new tools, like AI, intentionally—to get sharper with our details, to make more meaningful work, and to make sure those connections we create… actually convert and support your business.
Alongside that, I’ve been dreaming up The Detailed Project for years—a space where I can help other photographers and creatives like me.
Because here’s the thing:
There are tons of resources teaching you how to take better photos. Better lighting. Better gear. Better edits.
But what I always felt was missing… was a real person.
Someone to walk alongside me and help me run the business.
The behind-the-scenes stuff. The systems. The mindset. The growth.
No one gives you a blueprint for being a creative entrepreneur. So I decided to build the one I always needed.
That’s what The Detailed Project is all about—giving you the support, the tools, and the community you need to grow a business that feels good to run and gives you confidence in your process.
Because being a solo creative can feel really lonely sometimes—but I don’t think it has to be.
I want to be someone who shows up.
To walk through the messy parts with you.
To talk about the little details that actually make a big difference.
To help you grow—and grow right alongside you.
So that’s the short version of my story. But here on The Detailed Co. and The Detailed Project, I’ll be sharing all of it—as I grow, as I build, and as I help you do the same.
